MillTechFX is proud to announce we have become a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), as an indication of our intent to uphold sustainable and ethical business practices.

The PRI sets out a framework to help businesses enhance returns, manage risks and create value while acting responsibly.

MillTechFX acknowledges the relevance of ESG issues to investment management, and commits to providing, promoting and improving services that support the implementation of the following Principles:

  • Incorporatee Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes
  • Be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices
  • Seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest
Promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry
  • Work with the PRI Secretariat and other signatories to enhance their effectiveness in implementing the Principles
  • Report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles

The ESG movement is gaining momentum. There is an increased desire for sustainable business practices from both people and governments, and there’s a growing sense that this approach is also good for business.

The proof? The value of assets under management, in funds that abide by ESG principles, has now surpassed $1 trillion.

A survey from Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) found that 58% of investors had increased their focus on ESG funds and that 91% expected it to increase over the next five years.

There will, says one respondent, ‘be even less of a divide between “traditional” financial matters and ESG matters. They will become more entangled, with one key driver being the need to invest in, for example, climate change solutions and Sustainable Development Goal solutions.’

The Macquarie survey also showed that 71% of respondents felt ESG could improve returns – and the evidence backs them up. The majority of ESG funds outperform the market over 10 years.

Adopting sustainable principles in business promotes better, less risky practices overall. We’ve all seen how economies become unstable and businesses fail when toxic business practices are allowed to spread.

Quite simply, becoming more responsible is the right thing to do. Change has to happen and we all have to be a part of it.
